A Little Girl Made an Effort to Learn Sign Language to Send a Tender Message to Her Deaf Delivery Man

Roughly 2 percent of individuals the United States are deaf or nearly deaf, and others report that they're struggling with hearing even if they're not completely deaf. Due to these facts, many individuals in both developed and developing countries utilize sign language in order to communicate with loved ones and to conduct business.

In England, an eight-year-old girl named Tallulah McLellan, demonstrated a level of empathy and kindness far ahead of her years when she learned how to use sign language as a way to connect to her deaf neighborhood delivery driver Tim Joseph. Tim goes to their residence a few times a week to bring parcels. A moving video clip of the two friends communicating in sign language immediately became popular on social media, as many were touched by Tallulah’s loving gesture and her sweet, innocent relationship with Tim. Tallulah surprised Tim by making use of sign language to say "Have a good day!" to him. Tim was really touched by the little girl's efforts to learn sign language and also her endearing message. He said the morning surprise "made [his] day" and that he was "surprised" when Tallulah signed a message to him. Tim then took the opportunity to teach Tallulah to sign some more common phrases, like "Good morning, have a good day," which she went on to sign back to him on his next delivery to her home.

Their video has since been shared many, many times on the internet through social media channels and also encouraged the majority who saw it to begin learning sign language, which made Tim really glad.

We should all take young Tallulah McLellan as a role model and make an effort to connect with the deaf people in our everyday lives by means of sign language.
